Autism Rehabilitation Approach in China

In China, autism rehabilitation often follows a highly structured, intensive, and multidisciplinary model. The focus is on early intervention, daily repetition, and combining multiple therapies to support all areas of a child’s development at the same time.

Programs typically include:
• Behavioural therapy (such as ABA)
• Developmental approaches (such as DIR/Floortime)
• Speech and communication training
• Occupational and physical therapy
• Sensory integration

In addition, many centres integrate medical support and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to improve overall physiological balance. This combined approach aims to support not only behaviour and skills, but also the child’s underlying health and neurological function.

 Why Neurolife

Neurolife was established in 2013 and has over a decade of experience in pediatric rehabilitation. The team initially collaborated with leading hospitals in Shanxi Province, building a strong clinical foundation in treating children with neurological and developmental conditions.

Today, Neurolife operates as part of an international rehabilitation network, with centres across China and overseas, and has supported thousands of families worldwide.

Building on this experience, Neurolife has opened a new specialised centre dedicated exclusively to children with autism and autism-related developmental conditions, providing a focused and supportive environment tailored specifically for ASD.

Neurolife follows a multidisciplinary and individualised approach, combining:
• Core therapies: ABA, DIR/Floortime, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Sensory Integration
• Supportive therapies: RTMS, biofeedback, neuromuscular therapy, swallowing therapy
• Additional support: Traditional Chinese Medicine (including acupuncture)

Integrated Medical & Rehabilitation Approach

One of the key advantages of Neurolife is the ability to combine rehabilitation therapy with medical treatment under one roof.

Through collaboration with a leading hospital in the Shangrao region, Neurolife has created a holistic care model that allows families to access both rehabilitation and medical services in one integrated program.

This means that, where appropriate, families may explore additional medical treatments aimed at improving overall physiological health, including:
• Stem Cell Therapy – supporting neural repair and immune regulation
• Fecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT) – targeting the gut-brain axis and digestive health

This combined approach allows for a more comprehensive understanding of each child’s needs, addressing both developmental skills and underlying health factors in a coordinated way.
